10.8 claims that the app was not installed correctly or another app modified it.

Apparently FileMaker has recently released FM 11.0v4, which is compatible with Lion. On the FM site they state:
-OS X Lion only: Addressed an issue with some date field formats showing Asian characters.
-OS X Lion only: Addressed an issue with not being able to use zero or negative numbers in data formatting in the Inspector and in some controls in the Chart Setup dialog.
But in the table about the upgrade to v4, they seem to be coy: under the Platform column they just say: "Mac OS X"

Although another user reported that FM 11.0v3 “seems to work fine”, FileMaker Inc. themselves say it doesn’t.
http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9901 describes some unpleasant issues regarding custom date formats and the Inspector - not to mention (pre 2007) Excel export, which now is broken as it relies on Rosetta.
If you're doing serious FileMaker work, these are non-trivial problems.
So when will they fix them?
In an update that we can expect (wait for it) in effin’ August - so that might be up to six weeks after the Lion was released. Users of the server version even will have to wait until October 2011.
Frankly, I find this bizarre.
I wanted to upgrade to Lion ASAP. According to RoaringApps, 99 % of all relevant developers and apps are up to date. And who’s not? The people who are practically standing around the same water cooler as Steve Jobs (FileMaker, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Apple Inc.). They probably had access to Lion (an OS that was announced in October, 2010) long before anyone else outside of Apple, yet take all the time in the world to fix their flagship product.
Sorry, I call this amateurish.

Excel export probably depends on a Microsoft plugin that Micosoft never upgraded. However, since Neo Office supports Lion, and 2008, 2005, 2004 Excel, you may not have to switch operaing systems to fix this issue. Knowing Microsoft and how they baulk at making Access available without virtualization, I don't doubt this. Custom date formatting I never use, so can't comment.

I have the date bug. In the date that you enter, you get two Asian characters along with your two numeric digits in the year.
